Cabbit: New Cat Breed?

Lately there has been some discussion on the possibility of a cabbit, a new cat breed. This would definitely be quite the exotic cat breed, but the question that many people have is does it really exist?

The Details

The fact is, the cabbit, which is considered by some as being the new cat breed, is actually nothing more than a creature of legend. Therefore this is not a new cat breed of all, but rather a mythical creature that was first documented by Joseph Train stating that Manx cats were the product of matings between female cats and buck rabbits.

It should be known that it is actually impossible to actually produce cat-rabbit hybrids as they are genetically incompatible despite their similar number of chromosomes.

So although there may be no new cat breed here, you should know that there are still some terrific options out there, and even if you are looking for something incredibly unique such as the supposed new cat breed of the cabbit there are options that you will be satisfied with, and here are a few examples.

Abyssinian

One of the most unique cat breeds out there is the Abyssinian. Although this cat breed is reputed to be descended from the ancient Egyptian cat, this is not a known fact. What is known however is that these cats are very unique in their appearance and a very popular choice for all sorts of homeowners.

This is a breed of domesticated cat that has a body of medium length with well developed muscles. Their legs are slender in proportion to their body, with a head that is broad and moderately wedge-shaped.

Devon Rex

Another very unique cat breed is the Devon Rex. These cats are known for being playful and companionable, and make a great addition to any family, even those with other pets or with children.

These cats have been described as being a cross between a cat, a dog and a monkey. They are high jumpers and will try to occupy any space that is large enough to allow them to do so.

Keep in mind that these are just a few of the many different options that are available if you are looking for a unique, fun breed of cat that is different from others and which you are going to feel special having. Not only that, but these cats make for great conversation starters and are sure to be the talk of every party you throw.
